PM BRIEFED ON HIGHER EDUCATION BLUEPRINT 2025-2035, SAYS ZAMBRY

22/04/2025 09:27 PM

TAPAH, April 22 (Bernama) -- The preliminary briefing on the Malaysia Education Blueprint (Higher Education) 2025-2035 [PPTM 2025-2035] has been presented to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim ahead of its launch later this year, said Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir.

Zambry said the draft of the blueprint, which will offer a new dimension for the country’s higher education landscape, had earlier been officially handed over to him by the committee established by the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE).

“A preliminary briefing has already been given to the Prime Minister. We are just waiting for the right time to launch it this year,” he told reporters after attending the KPT@Tapah Outreach programme here today.

Zambry, before this, said that MOHE was in the final stages of completing the PPTM 2025-2035, as the current blueprint is set to end later this year.

Meanwhile, Zambry reminded Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) candidates who were not offered a place at higher learning institutions not to give up and to consider pursuing education through skills-based pathways.

“The education system and structure today have changed. It is no longer limited to just university pathways. Learning pathways are now broader and not confined solely to universities.

“Today, under the MADANI government, we have restructured the system to focus equally on technical fields alongside academic fields,” he said.

He said outstanding SPM candidates would not be left behind, as MOHE would assist them with available support.

Among the financial assistance programmes offered are foundation studies financial aid for public universities, financial aid for students with disabilities (OKU) and financial assistance for students at polytechnics and community colleges.

The 2024 SPM examination results will be announced on Thursday.
