WASHINGTON, April 23 (Bernama-Sputnik/RIA Novosti) -- US President Donald Trump said that he has never intended to fire Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell but wants him to cut rates in a timely manner.
"None whatsoever. Never did. The press runs away with things. No, I have no intention of firing him [Powell].
“I would like to see him be a little more active in terms of his idea to lower interest rates. It's a perfect time to lower interest rates," Trump told reporters at the White House on Tuesday, reported Sputnik/RIA Novosti.
