KUALA LUMPUR, April 4 (Bernama) -- Around 300 invited guests from diverse backgrounds in Windhoek attended an Aidilfitri open house hosted by the Malaysian High Commission in Namibia on Thursday.
The attendees included members of the diplomatic corps, representatives from Muslim and Christian organisations in Windhoek, business leaders, academics from the International University of Management and Limkokwing University Namibia, as well as members of the Namibian Malaysian Friendship Association and the Malaysian community in Namibia.
Malaysia’s Chargé d’Affaires to Namibia, Datuk Dr Mohamad Rameez Yahaya, said in his remarks that the event served as a platform to promote Malaysia to Namibians, while showcasing the essence of the Malaysia MADANI concept through the country’s rich culinary and cultural heritage.
He added that in Malaysia, where Muslims form the majority, such festive gatherings unite people of all races and faiths in a shared spirit of harmony and togetherness.
