KUALA LUMPUR, April 16 (Bernama) – Two football tournaments in the country, namely the President's Cup and the Youth Cup, are back to colour the country's football scene for the 2025 season with the involvement of a 25 teams.
The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) in a post on its official Facebook page today announced that the President's Cup competition will open this Saturday (April 19) followed by the Youth Cup a week later on April 26.
A total of 11 teams will compete in the 2025 President's Cup involving players under 20 years old representing Johor Darul Ta'zim III, Selangor FC, Terengganu FC U-20, Negeri Sembilan FC, AMD U-17, Penang FC II, Kuching City FC, PDRM FC, Sabah FC II, Kuala Lumpur City FC and Melaka FA.
Meanwhile, the 2025 Youth Cup involving players under 18 years old will see 14 teams compete, namely Johor Darul Ta'zim IV, Terengganu FC U-18, Selangor FC, AMD U-16, Penang FC III, Kuching City FC, Kuala Lumpur City FC, Negeri Sembilan FC, Sabah FC III, PDRM FC, Johor Johor Darul Ta’zim V, Melaka FA, AMD U-17 Future and SSTMI U-17.
Previously, FAM said it would continue to focus on two minor league competitions, namely the Youth Cup and the President's Cup after the announcement of the abolition of the Under 23 competition for the 2025-2026 Malaysia Football League Cup (MFL) season.
