MADINAH, May 1 (Bernama) -- Being chosen to serve as Hajj officers for the 1446H/2025M pilgrimage season is an indescribable moment for two men stepping onto the Holy Land for the first time.

Muhammad Faris Abu Hasan, 36, and Aizal Muhammad Nazim Sakari, 34, are fully aware of the heavy responsibilities they now bear to ensure the smooth and successful running of this year’s Hajj operations.

Muhammad Faris, a nurse at Sultanah Fatimah Specialist Hospital in Muar said the opportunity came after an 11-year wait. He described it as a great honour and responsibility that demands sincerity, resilience, and a strong commitment to safeguarding the welfare and needs of Malaysian pilgrims.

“I will strive to provide the best service to the pilgrims, just as I have done throughout my career in Malaysia.

“Here in Madinah, I will do my utmost to assist so that the pilgrims can perform their Hajj rituals as best as possible,” said Faris, who serves at the Tabung Haji (TH) Madinah Medical Centre.

He added that teamwork is essential in facing the challenges of working in the Holy Land, especially in caring for the Duyufurrahman (Guests of Allah SWT) who require special treatment and attention.

Meanwhile, encouragement and advice from his parents become the pillar of strength for Aizal Muhammad, who is entrusted with duties at the Operations Information Room (BMO) in Madinah.

“My role doesn’t involve direct contact with pilgrims but focuses more on managing matters related to staff and upper management.

“Therefore, I must always be prepared and stay composed as this job demands discipline. I cannot leave my station without necessity, especially during emergencies. When required, I must act immediately,” he said.

Aizal said Madinah BMO officers must be highly meticulous and play an important role as the reference point for information on pilgrim movements, accommodations, visitation schedules, transportation, and emergencies to ensure the smooth running of the entire operation.

A total of 632 Hajj officers have been deployed in stages to Saudi Arabia since April 24 to ensure the seamless execution of the Hajj season. This includes 358 delegation welfare officers and 274 medical officers.

TH has deployed Hajj officers across various sectors including maktab (Hajj mission office) and zone management, healthcare, Hajj ritual guidance and visitations, finance, media, transportation, catering, baggage, and customer service.
