KUALA LUMPUR, April 25 (Bernama) -- Football fans planning to watch the Malaysia Cup final between Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) and Sri Pahang FC at the National Stadium Bukit Jalil tomorrow have been advised not to bring prohibited items into the stadium.
Cheras police chief ACP Aidil Bolhassan said that prohibited items include firecrackers, helmets, flares, sharp objects, umbrellas, sticks, and water bottles.
He added that police would conduct body and bag inspections, both before and after they enter the stadium.
“To ensure smooth traffic flow during the match, the police advise using public transport, and avoiding the roads around the stadium unless attending the match,” he said in a statement today.
He also reminded the public to follow all instructions given by police officers on duty.
“The police will take strict action against any groups or individuals who attempt to cause chaos or provoke others, during or after the match,” he said, adding that those found committing an offence may be charged under Section 147 of the Penal Code for rioting, or Section 160 of the Penal Code for committing affray.
