AMK DIVISIONAL ELECTIONS IN KEDAH CANCELLED DUE TO TECHNICAL ISSUE - STATE PKR SECRETARY

11/04/2025 11:40 PM

ALOR SETAR, April 11 (Bernama) -- A technical glitch in the voting application has led to the cancellation of the PKR Youth (AMK) divisional elections in Kedah today, according to state PKR secretary Dr Mohamad Sofee Razak.

He said the issue caused the system to be unable to verify the birth dates of members aged 35 and below.

“They can cast their votes at the divisional level, but not for the AMK. As for the divisional and women’s wing elections, the process went on smoothly.

“The overall election process, both physical and online, went smoothly today except for the AMK, with no other issues arising,” he said when contacted by Bernama here tonight.

Earlier, the Party Election Committee (JPP), in a statement on Facebook, announced that voting for the PKR AMK divisional elections across Kedah today had been cancelled and would be held again tomorrow from 8 am to 5 pm.

Meanwhile, Kedah PKR chairman Nor Azrina Surip @ Nurin Aina Abdullah said a total of 19,356 members were eligible to vote, involving all 15 divisions in the state.

She said a total of 19,003 people, or 98.2 per cent of members, voted online, while 353 individuals, or about 1.8 per cent, cast their votes physically.
