KUALA LUMPUR, April 11 (Bernama) -- Voting for the PKR Youth (AMK) divisional elections across Kedah today has been cancelled and will be conducted again tomorrow from 8 am to 5 pm.
The Party Election Committee (JPP) through a statement on Facebook today announced that the decision was made after an emergency meeting held today.
"All AMK and young women members aged 35 and below are requested to voting again for the AMK divisional level (Kedah)," it said.
In addition, the JPP announced that the election period for the PKR Division and Wanita levels in the state today has been extended from 5 pm to 8 pm.
"AMK and young women members aged 35 and below are reminded that they (also) need to vote for the division and Wanita levels today before 8 pm," it said.
The JPP previously announced that 296,403 members were eligible to vote in the online party election based on blockchain technology and physically involving 16,878 candidates who had been confirmed to be contesting for various positions at 222 divisions.
The election dates for positions at the Division, Wanita Division and Youth Division (AMK) levels have been set from today until April 20 in stages by state, with Kedah PKR becoming the first state to hold party elections today.
The elections for the positions of the Central Leadership Council (MPP), Central Wanita Leadership Council (MPWP) and Central Youth Leadership Council (MPAMKP) of the party will be held on May 24.
