TAIWAN OPEN: TANG JIE-WEN TSE STORM INTO SEMI-FINALS

KUALA LUMPUR, May 9 (Bernama) — National mixed doubles pair Chen Tang Jie-Chan Wen Tse emerged as the sole Malaysian representatives to advance to the semi-finals of the 2025 Taiwan Open Badminton Championship after defeating Indonesia's Bobby Setiabudi-Melati Daeva Oktavianti today.

In the quarter-final match held at the Taipei Arena, the duo, who will end their partnership after the Malaysia Masters at the end of this month, needed just 28 minutes to secure a 22-20, 21-10 victory.

Seventh seeds Tang Jie-Wen Tse will face fourth-seeded Indonesians Jafar Hidayatullah-Felisha Alberta Nathaniel Pasaribu for a place in the final.

Another Malaysian mixed doubles pair, Loo Bing Kun-Toh Ee Wei, failed to progress after losing to Indonesia’s Dejan Ferdinansyah-Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti 22-20, 17-21, 12-21.

In the men’s singles, Justin Hoh lost in the quarter-finals to Taiwan’s Wang Tzu Wei 13-21, 15-21 in 44 minutes, while national women’s singles shuttler K. Letshanaa also failed to advance, going down 16-21, 21-13, 15-21 to South Korea’s Sim Yu Jin.
