LIMA'25: 102 AIRCRAFT, 35 NAVAL VESSELS TO SHOWCASE CAPABILITIES SO FAR

KUALA LUMPUR, May 7 (Bernama) -- A total of 102 aircraft and 35 naval vessels have so far been confirmed to showcase their might at the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition 2025 (LIMA’25), scheduled to take place from May 20 to 24.

Co-organiser Global Exhibitions and Conferences Sdn Bhd (GEC) informed Bernama that 64 of the aircraft will be involved in aerial demonstrations, including aerobatic performances, solo displays and the main opening gambit featuring a flypast.

“Among the air show segments that will set the tone for LIMA’25 are aerobatic teams such as the Russian Knights, Jupiter from Indonesia and Surya Kiran from India,” said GEC.

According to GEC, the remaining 38 aircraft will be featured in a static display throughout the largest maritime and aerospace exhibition in Southeast Asia.

“The assets involved include those from key agencies such as the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF), Malaysian Army, Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA), the Fire and Rescue Department’s air unit, and the Royal Malaysia Police air wing.

“Static aircraft from abroad will also be displayed, including the S-70i Black Hawk from the Royal Brunei Air Force, the Airbus A400M from the German Air Force, the P-72A from the Italian Air Force, and the CP-140 maritime patrol aircraft from the Royal Canadian Air Force,” it said.

Other aircraft expected to draw interest include the F-15SG, CH-47D Chinook helicopter and AH-64D Apache from the Republic of Singapore Air Force, the Ilyushin IL-76 from the Russian Aerospace Forces, and the Dornier 228 from the Indian Air Force.

The United States Air Force will also make a strong showing with aircraft such as the F/A-18 Hornet, C-2 Greyhound, C-12 Huron, C-130J Hercules and MH-60 Seahawk.

For the fleet review, 34 vessels will be anchored, comprising 15 from the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN), five from the MMEA, and 15 from foreign navies.

“MMEA’s participation includes the maritime vessels KM Tun Fatimah, KM Langkawi, KM Gagah, KM Mulia and KM Perwira,” the statement added.

The co-organiser also confirmed international participation in the fleet review, which includes prominent warships such as the ITS Antonio Marceglia (Italy), JS Yahagi (Japan), TCG Büyükada (Türkiye), RSS Steadfast (Singapore), and USS Lenah Sutcliffe Higbee (United States).

“Other participating nations include Pakistan, Indonesia, India, Russia, Thailand and Bangladesh,” it added.

LIMA’25 is co-organised by the Ministry of Defence and GEC, with a focus on innovation and enhancing competitiveness among industry players in line with current technological advancements.

Themed “Today's Innovation, Tomorrow's Achievements”, LIMA’25 will take place in Langkawi, Kedah, and remains one of the largest maritime and aerospace exhibitions in Southeast Asia since its inception in 1991.
