SABAH MADANI RAKYAT 2025 AIMS TO STRENGTHEN NATIONAL HARMONY - AARON

SANDAKAN, May 5 (Bernama) -- The Sabah MADANI Rakyat Programme (PMR) 2025, scheduled to take place in Tawau for three days starting this Friday (May 9), is set to serve as a key platform to foster national unity and reinforce social harmony.

Minister of National Unity, Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang, said that unity can be achieved when citizens embrace discipline and mutual respect, particularly in a multicultural society like Malaysia.

“My hope is that this programme will promote harmony and bring people together through the participation of Malaysia’s diverse communities,” he said.

“We aspire to build a Malaysia MADANI, where the values embedded in the concept reflect civility, dignity and mutual understanding,” he told a press conference after launching the Arkib@Sekolah: Bermulanya Di Sini programme at St Mary’s Secondary School today.

During the programme, the Ministry of National Unity will host an exhibition highlighting unity in diversity, alongside displays on its policies, achievements, and a showcase of the traditional royal headgear of the Malay Sultanate.

Other activities under the unity agenda include a traditional costume contest for Tabika Perpaduan children, cultural performances by the Tawau Ethnic Association, and a “Let’s Try Traditional Food” segment featuring dishes from various ethnic groups.

The Sabah edition of PMR 2025 will be held at Dataran Majlis Perbandaran Tawau, led by the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (KUSKOP), in collaboration with the Performance Acceleration Coordination Unit (PACU) and the Sabah state government as host.
