PVATM TO EXPAND BUSINESS HUB NETWORK NATIONWIDE BY NEXT YEAR

02/05/2025 04:53 PM

SEREMBAN, May 2 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Armed Forces Veterans Association (PVATM) plans to expand its business hub network nationwide, with operations expected to begin next year, said its president, Datuk Sharuddin Omar.

He said suitable locations have been identified for the hubs, which will be established near PVATM branches in collaboration with the Digital Entrepreneur Country Club.

“The first hub has been set up in Paroi, focusing on poultry-based businesses, among others. We aim to replicate this model across the country, serving as a centralised centre for wet and dry goods, processing facilities and more,” he told reporters after visiting the PVATM Paroi Poultry Business Centre here today.

Sharuddin said PVATM has also developed a digital business platform, the Redsoga app, to facilitate online purchases and improve accessibility to its products.

He said the app functions similarly to other e-commerce platforms, but with a unique concept.

“For instance, if someone places an order through Redsoga in the morning, it can be delivered by evening because every state will have its own hub,” he said.

In another development, Sharuddin welcomed the Defence Ministry’s plan to reorganise associations involving armed forces veterans to enhance their effectiveness.

“As a non-governmental body with a strong structure and large membership, we welcome any initiative to improve economic opportunities. However, those responsible must provide a clear implementation mechanism,” he said.

Yesterday, Defence Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin said there are currently 122 associations for armed forces veterans, some of which are inactive or have very small memberships.
