FUZHOU HOSTS 8TH DIGITAL CHINA SUMMIT, SPOTLIGHTING INNOVATION AND AI PROGRESS

KUALA LUMPUR, April 30 (Bernama) -- The eighth Digital China Summit (DCS) has kicked off in Fuzhou, Fujian province, highlighting China’s continued advancement in digital technology, data-driven development, and artificial intelligence (AI).

With the theme "25 Years of Endeavor, a New Chapter of Digital China: Intelligence Leads High-quality Development", this year’s summit encompasses an opening ceremony, a main forum, sub-forums, the Digital China Innovation Contest, the Minjiang River Digital Night Talk, and the Fuzhou Dialogue with the Future.

Over 70 major achievements were unveiled, including the 2024 Digital China Development Report and the 2024 National Data Resources Survey Report, reflecting national progress in digital technology innovation, AI adoption, and data resource development and utilisation, among others.

Furthermore, a number of new technologies, services, and products, such as AI robots, multi-modal large language models, and trusted data spaces, are being presented with some 100 interactive programmes, and at least 30 physical models are prepared to provide visitors an immersive experience.

With over 400 organisations and businesses participating, this year’s exhibition area is divided into four parts, namely optimising the digital environment, strengthening key capabilities, consolidating the digital foundation, and empowering economic and social development.

In addition, three special sections have been set up comprising digital China's innovative development, digital ecological civilisation, and data factor enterprises, according to the Secretariat of the DCS Organizing Committee in a statement.

DCS has been held for seven consecutive years, facilitating the implementation of at least 3,000 digital economy projects with a total investment that exceeds 1.8 trillion Chinese yuan. (100 Chinese yuan = RM59.40)

The event is co-hosted by the National Development and Reform Commission, the National Data Administration, the Cyberspace Administration of China, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and the Fujian Provincial People's Government.
