KUALA LUMPUR, April 30 (Bernama) -- License holders in the processing factory and rubber trader categories are required to use the Malaysian Sustainable Natural Rubber (MSNR) Trace system to report transactions involving natural rubber, effective May 5, said the Malaysian Rubber Board (MRB).
In a statement today, the MRB said that enforcement actions may be taken against license holders who fail to use the MSNR Trace system, including fines of up to RM50,000, imprisonment for up to two years, or both.
The MSNR Trace system is a digital platform designed to enable traceability throughout the natural rubber supply chain and to ensure transparency and sustainability in rubber production.
“This system integrates several MRB digital platforms, including PAT-G, RRIM Geo Rubber, RRIMniaga, RRIMestet, and MyLesen.
“It plays a crucial role in addressing environmental and social issues within the industry by allowing stakeholders to track raw rubber transactions from the plantations to the final products,” MRB said.
Meanwhile, the MRB is also actively conducting large-scale operations to ensure that licensed rubber traders who purchase rubber from smallholders use the RRIMniaga application, which has been mandatory since 2021.
“License cancellation will be enforced against any MRB license holders who continue to violate the license conditions already in effect,” it added.
