YAYASAN SELANGOR OFFERS SCHOLARSHIPS WORTH OVER RM2 MLN TO 423 STUDENTS

SHAH ALAM, April 29 (Bernama) -- Yayasan Selangor is strengthening its commitment towards enhancing the education of children in the state by offering scholarships to 423 students, with a total sponsorship amount of RM2.015 million.

Its chief executive officer, Raja Nazirin Shah Raja Mohamad presented the scholarship offer letters to recipients representing various backgrounds including students from low-income families, the B40 group as well as rural areas at the Asrama Yayasan Selangor Klang’s Bestari Hall today.

Raja Nazirin Shah said that through these scholarships, selected students receive financial assistance in the form of a Small Scholarship of RM 700 per year or a Special Scholarship of RM1,000 per year, in addition to additional benefits covering educational expenses such as school fees, textbooks and other basic necessities.

“Yayasan Selangor also allocates about RM2 million a year to cover the cost of providing food and beverages for students in its two central hostels in Klang and Sabak Bernam, a holistic effort to ensure the welfare and well-being of the students are continuously maintained.

"In addition to this scholarship allocation, Yayasan Selangor also implements various academic and character development programmes including guidance classes, free tuition, exam workshops, and academic support programmes such as motivation, identity and leadership," he said.

Raja Nazirin Shah said his team is committed to providing all the necessary facilities to support the development of the foundation's sponsored students.

He also urged students to fully utilise the opportunities and facilities provided and to strive to become versatile and competitive individuals.

“With all the facilities and programmes provided, all students are expected to become well-rounded individuals, possessing a first-class mindset with extensive knowledge, and to work on honing various skills, in addition to succeeding in life both in this world and the hereafter," he also said.

Raja Nazirin Shah added that this initiative reflects the Yayasan Selangor's commitment to continue supporting the education agenda of the state and nation, in line with the desire to produce high-quality human capital capable of contributing to the development of the race and country.
