KUALA LUMPUR, April 29 (Bernama) -- A total of 417 projects, with an aggregate investment of 341.57 billion Chinese yuan, were signed on-site during the 2025 Suzhou Global Investment Conference held recently. (100 Chinese yuan = RM59.50)
According to a statement, the conference was attended by over 1,200 business elites from global Fortune 500 companies, multinational corporations, and unicorn enterprises.
Located in E China's Jiangsu Province, Suzhou remains a key destination for foreign investment and the highest concentration of foreign-funded enterprises and is home to 14 national-level development zones, 19,000 foreign enterprises, and 178 Fortune 500 companies.
Having steadily expanded its institutional openness in areas such as rules, regulations, management, and standards, Suzhou also deepened its pilot programme for the open innovation of the entire biopharmaceutical industry chain.
The city has introduced China's first "white list" for the importation of materials for biopharmaceutical research and development, cutting customs clearance times by 70 per cent.
To attract more global capital, Suzhou is enhancing innovation platforms such as China-Singapore, China-Germany, China-Japan, and cross-strait cooperation frameworks.
Currently, there are approximately 30,000 foreign residents in Suzhou. The opening of the Foreign Resident Service Center provides 21 services, supported by a professional English-speaking team and a 24-hour artificial intelligence-powered government services assistant.
With its business-friendly environment, comprehensive services, and strong support systems, Suzhou is positioning itself as a global investment magnet—where, as the city promotes, “investing in Suzhou is investing in the future”.
