BAGHDAD, April 20 (Bernama-WAM) -- The meetings of the “Palestine Committee in the Arab Parliament” began Saturday in Baghdad, with the participation of delegations from member Arab states, Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported.
The Arab Parliament affirmed its continued support for the Palestinian people until they obtain their legitimate rights - including the right of return, freedom, self-determination, and the establishment of an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.
It emphasised that the Palestinian cause will remain the central and foremost issue on its agenda.
Mohamed Ahmed Al Yamahi, President of the Arab Parliament and Chairman of the Committee, stated in his speech that this meeting comes within the framework of the Arab Parliament’s follow-up on developments in the occupied Palestinian territories and all the difficult and decisive moments Palestine is experiencing - with its people facing genocide, starvation, displacement, and the complete destruction of its infrastructure.
