KUALA LUMPUR, April 18 (Bernama) -- Malaysia is poised to strengthen its position as a regional leader in healthcare transformation and innovation through the Malaysia International Health (MIH) Megatrends 2025 conference, said Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad.
He said the flagship event reflects the nation’s strong commitment to health diplomacy and aligns with key priorities, such as improved access, quality of care, digitalisation and a sustainable healthcare workforce.
“The MIH Megatrends 2025 aims to establish itself as ASEAN’s premier healthcare innovation hub, while its conference component will serve as a thought leadership platform that gathers global and local stakeholders, including non-governmental health sectors, investors and the public,” he said at the pre-launch ceremony of the conference today.
Dzulkefly said MIH Megatrends 2025 will spotlight non-communicable diseases, public health, and sustainability, which are all aligned with the Health White Paper charting Malaysia’s long-term vision for a more equitable, resilient and sustainable healthcare system.
“As the custodian of the nation’s health, the Ministry of Health (MoH) plays a crucial role in addressing today’s pressing challenges and developing feasible, pragmatic solutions.
“This is a timely opportunity for healthcare professionals to connect, collaborate and share their expertise on cutting-edge technologies and global trends that will shape the future of healthcare,” he added.
MIH Megatrends 2025 is a strategic collaboration between MoH and KPJ Healthcare Bhd. It is scheduled to take place from Nov 25 to 27 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.
Themed “Innovating for a Healthier, Sustainable Future,” the conference reflects Malaysia’s strategic direction as ASEAN Chair in 2025.
It will convene global thought leaders, policymakers, clinicians, innovators and industry experts to exchange ideas and explore scalable solutions in value-based care, artificial intelligence, mental health, biotechnology and healthcare sustainability.
