SABAH STATE ASSEMBLY EXTENDS CONDOLENCES TO TUN ABDULLAH’S FAMILY

KOTA KINABALU, April 15 (Bernama) -- The Sabah State Legislative Assembly today conveyed its condolences to the family of Malaysia’s fifth Prime Minister, Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, who died yesterday evening.

Speaker Datuk Seri Kadzim M Yahya said the entire state assembly was deeply saddened by the passing of a statesman who had rendered immense service to the nation.

“Let us together pray for the late Tun Abdullah. May his soul be showered with blessings and placed among the righteous. Al-Fatihah,” he said during the state assembly sitting here today.

Tun Abdullah, 85, breathed his last at the National Heart Institute in Kuala Lumpur at 7.10 pm yesterday.

Born on Nov 26, 1939, in Bayan Lepas, Penang, Abdullah helmed the country’s premiership from Oct 31, 2003, until April 3, 2009.
