MELAKA, April 5 (Bernama) -- The national-level Aidilfitri MADANI 2025 celebrations held at Melaka International Trade Centre (MITC), Ayer Keroh here today acts as a symbol of unity for the multiracial community in the country.
With the theme ‘Ihsan Menyentuh Jiwa, Toleransi Menyatu Negara’, it emphasises good values and tolerance as a foundation to the unity of a society, and acts as a bridge that celebrates Malaysia’s cultural diversity and strengthens harmony in the community.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is slated to launch the celebrations, which fosters ties between Malaysians through mutual respect, understanding and an appreciation for the various cultures that form the core of the country’s harmony.
The celebration is also a continuation of the tradition of previous prime ministerial efforts in encouraging unity among Malaysia’s multiracial people.
Visitors will be served with an assortment of dishes synonymous with the multiracial Malaysian identity, including briyani rice, dimsum, capati, wantan, dumplings, kambing golek as well as sate, as well as state delicacies such as puding raja (Pahang), kek lapis (Sarawak), kuih bakar (Melaka), rendang tok (Perak), rendang maman (Negeri Sembilan), ketupat sotong (Terengganu), Burasak (Sabah), punten (Selangor), laksa utara (Perlis), laksa Johor (Johor), laksam (Kelantan), kolok mee (Sarawak) and pasembur (Penang).
Yang Dipertua Negeri Melaka Tun Mohd Ali Rustam, Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh, both deputy prime ministers, Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof along with their spouses will attend the event, as well as National Unity Minister, Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang and other Cabinet ministers, executive councillors of various states as well as senior federal and state officials.
The celebrations, organised by the National Unity Ministry and Melaka state government, will begin at 10 am to 4pm and over 5,000 Malaysians are expected to attend.
The state government has prepared a free shuttle bus service for visitors from the grounds of Al-Alami Mosque, MITC, Mydin Ayer Keroh and Lingkaran MITC.
The Aidilfitri MADANI 2025 celebrations will also be held in Selangor on April 6, Pahang (April 11), Kelantan and Penang (April 12), Sarawak (April 19), Perak (April 25) and Perlis (April 27).
