KUALA LUMPUR, May 2 (Bernama) -- UDA Holdings Berhad (UDA) has announced the appointment of Johari Shukri Jamil as its new president and chief executive officer (CEO), effective today.
In a statement, UDA said Johari Shukri possesses over 28 years of experience in corporate settings, having held leadership positions in property and construction, real estate investment, industrial development, logistics, oil and gas, as well as engineering.
“His track record in driving transformation and value creation will be pivotal in steering UDA’s next phase of growth,” the company said.
Before joining UDA, Johari Shukri served as group managing director of PASDEC Holdings Bhd and executive director cum CEO of Hektar Asset Management Sdn Bhd, the asset manager of Hektar Real Estate Investment Trust (Hektar REIT).
During his tenure, he successfully led Hektar REIT through its post-pandemic recovery, spearheading growth and diversification strategies that helped restore the company’s profitability, and was recognised as Malaysia Top Achiever 2023 for CEO of the Year, Leadership Excellence in REIT Management by The Leaders Online.
Among other key positions he previously held are executive vice president of Business Development and Transformation Office at Iskandar Investment Berhad, group chief operating officer of EA Technique (M) Berhad, CEO and executive director of Tanjung Langsat Port Sdn Bhd, as well as various senior roles within Johor Corporation.
Meanwhile, UDA chairman Tan Sri Mohd Annuar Zaini, on behalf of the board of directors, welcomed the appointment and thanked the Finance Ministry and the Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Ministry for their endorsement.
