KIBING GROUP TO PROVIDE 700 MORE JOBS FOR SABAHANS - HAJIJI

KOTA KINABALU, April 25 (Bernama) -- Kibing Group will offer 700 additional job opportunities to the people of Sabah through a recruitment initiative starting in May, Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor said.

He said this new recruitment drive would increase the number of Sabahans currently employed by Kibing Group, which already stands at 1,625, filling roles across management, engineering, technical, and operational positions.

“This represents over 83 per cent of the total workforce at Kibing Group. This positive development not only strengthens the local community but also promotes shared prosperity. Congratulations and thank you,” he said during the Aidilfitri celebration with Kibing employees at the Kota Kinabalu Industrial Park (KKIP) here today.

Hajiji further informed that Kibing Group will collaborate with the Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) Secretariat to launch a recruitment campaign from May 13 to 23, which will take place at district offices in Ranau, Tuaran, Beaufort, Papar, Kota Kinabalu, and Penampang.

The Chief Minister also stressed the importance of prioritising Sabahans in recruitment, urging industry players to not only hire locals but also invest in their training and development.

“This collective effort is essential to ensure our local workforce is equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to meet industry demands,” he said, adding that Kibing Group’s efforts were not only transformative for Sabah but also a clear demonstration of the state government’s success in advancing high-impact projects to spur the state’s economic growth.

Hajiji also highlighted that Kibing Group’s commencement of the RM2.5 billion high-tech solar glass manufacturing plant in Sabah in 2022 marked a significant milestone for the state.
