KUALA LUMPUR, April 11 (Bernama) -- McDonald's Malaysia is organising a 'Raya Mekdi' Open House at five selected locations, nationwide, starting with the Pantai Sentral Park outlet, here, today, as part of its effort to celebrate Aidilfitri with the community and loyal customers.
The inaugural programme saw 1,500 free meals distributed to visitors at each location, as a token of appreciation for Malaysians' continued support for the brand.
McDonald's Malaysia senior vice president and chief impact officer, Melati Abdul Hai, said that the remaining four selected outlets are in Bandar Sri Damansara (April 12); Indera Mahkota, Pahang (April 18); Bandar Baru Uda, Johor (April 19); and Tabuan Jaya, Sarawak (April 26).
“Our main objective is to welcome and celebrate Aidilfitri with the community and customers, as a token of appreciation for their continuous support,” she told reporters today.
She added that the open house is part of McDonald’s commitment to creating memorable moments and fostering community spirit during the festive season.
According to Melati, initiatives to bring people together are part of McDonald’s Malaysia’s core values, with the company carrying out over 10,000 community programmes annually across the country.
“During the recent Ramadan month, we ran the ‘Kongsi Rezeki Ramadan’ programme, which involved providing breaking of fast and ‘moreh’ (supper) meals, as well as donating ‘kotak rezeki’ to those in need,” she said.
Melati added that the Aidilfitri celebrations are complemented by various campaigns, including free food and drink promotions during the first two days of Syawal, and exclusive festive deals available through the McD app.
To enhance the festive spirit, 26 McDonald’s outlets were also adorned with Aiilfitri-themed decorations, to welcome families and friends.
“We want everyone to feel the joy, and, at the same time, strengthen the bond between McDonald’s Malaysia and the community. We’re not just a restaurant - we are a part of the Malaysian family,” she said.
