PRIME MINISTER ALWAYS READY TO HEAR VIEWS FROM CIVIL SERVANTS - MOHD ZUKI

PUTRAJAYA, April 7 (Bernama) -- Former Chief Secretary to the Government (KSN) Tan Sri Mohd Zuki Ali described Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim as a leader who is always open to listening to views and suggestions from civil servants as well as prioritising the speed of work and the results produced.

Mohd Zuki, who is also the chairman of the Employees Provident Fund, said Anwar placed great emphasis on the welfare of civil servants and this was evident in the government's decision to revise the salaries of civil servants through the implementation of the Public Service Remuneration System (SSPA).

"He respects civil servants and is very open (to listen) to their views and ideas. This is one of the things I learned from him, which is to give the opportunity to the people below to offer their views," he said in his speech at the Dinner for the former KSN and Appreciation of the Public Service Remuneration System (SSPA) Team, here today.

Through the SSPA which came into effect on Dec 1, 2024 officers of the Implementation Group and the Management and Professional Group who opt for the scheme, will receive a salary adjustment of 15 per cent in phases, while the Top Management Group will receive a salary adjustment of seven per cent in phases.

Mohd Zuki was appointed as KSN since Dec 31, 2019 and retired on Aug 10, 2022 before his contract was extended for two years.

He holds a Bachelor of Business Management degree from Nanyang University, Singapore and has more than 32 years of experience serving as a civil servant and has served at the Istana Negara and the Prime Minister's Department.
