ALOR SETAR, May 16 (Bernama) -- More than 1,300 police officers and personnel will be assigned to maintain and ensure security and smooth traffic throughout Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition 2025 (LIMA'25), taking place from May 20 to 24.
Langkawi district police chief ACP Shariman Ashari said the assignment will focus on security control at the Mahsuri International Exhibition Centre (MIEC) and Resorts World Exhibition Halls, which are among the locations that will be used throughout LIMA'25.
"In addition, the assignment also involves accommodation locations for distinguished guests, official functions, radar control, crime prevention patrols, monitoring of crowded locations, traffic control and crisis and disaster response teams.
"During LIMA'25, Jalan LIMA facing the airport, Dewan LIMA and Jalan Teluk Baru at the Resorts World intersection to Simpang Kuala Temonyong will be made a one-way route from 7 am to 6 pm. All visitors who want to go to the exhibition at the MIEC Hall are encouraged to use the official LIMA'25 e-hailing service," he said in a statement today.
He said that visitors in cars are advised to use the Hotel Pelangi Resort junction to the Police Training Centre (PULAPOL) and avoid the airport roundabout to enter the designated parking lot.
"The parking lot for visitors is the site in front of PULAPOL, Jalan Kuala Muda opposite Bella Vista Ekspress and the parking lot in front of Langkawi International Airport. For visitors to the maritime exhibition, parking spaces are available at the Resorts World Hotel and Jalan Teluk Baru,” he said.
He also advised visitors to be careful with bookings, especially through agents of rental cars, hotels, guest houses and other packages, to avoid falling victim to fraud by irresponsible parties.
Meanwhile, Shariman said the public, especially pilgrims who will be departing via the airport, are advised to leave their homes early to avoid delays or any unwanted incidents.
