TWENTY-FIVE NADA CLIENTS UNDERGOING REHAB IN PUSPEN PASS THEIR SPM EXAMS

PUTRAJAYA, April 24 (Bernama) -- A total of National Anti-Drug Agency (NADA) clients undergoing treatment and rehabilitation have managed to pass their Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) 2024 examinations.

Its director-general, Datuk Ruslin Jusoh said 14 of them were located at the Seri Iskandar narcotics addiction rehabilitation centre (PUSPEN) in Perak while 11 were at Papar PUSPEN in Sabah.

“All clients are currently following the Treatment and Rehabilitation Within Community programme, which offers special modules such as Client Education Access programme (PAPK), specially for clients under 18 years as a second chance at education.

“Under this programme, all qualified clients will follow a systematic class schedule and are taught by experienced teachers with teaching support from the district education office,” he said in a statement today, adding that the clients sat for six subjects, Bahasa Melayu, English, Science, Mathematics, History and either Islamic Studies or Moral Studies.

He added that the PAPK aimed to help clients to gain formal education that could ensure a better future and that it was the springboard to changing perception that being left behind at school left no chance for improvement.

He said the educational programme could nurture human capital with knowledge in line with the national education’s goals, especially after the programme was improved with the introduction of ‘PUSPEN Karangan sebagai Sekolah Integriti’.

"With this facility, the agency can tackle education issues for clients and ensure they can continue their education collectively,” he added.
