Top 30 FBM KLCI Stocks Likely To Stay Unchanged - MIDF

KUALA LUMPUR, April 14 (Bernama) -- MIDF Amanah Investment Bank Bhd expects the top 30 blue chips to remain unchanged in the upcoming semi-annual review of the FTSE Bursa Malaysia (FBM) KLCI in June this year.

In a note today, the investment bank stated that this is likely to be the first review in three years with no changes.

“We looked at the list of constituents after Friday’s market close and opine that the current top 30 blue chips will remain status quo for the June 2025 review,” it said.

MIDF Amanah noted that Gamuda and 99 Speed Mart Retail Holdings, which were added to the FBM KLCI in the December 2024 review, have maintained their positions well within the index, with Gamuda ranked 20th and 99 Speed Mart 26th.

It added that no other stocks have risen or fallen to the threshold for additions or deletions, as specified in the ground rules.

“While the reserve list will largely remain the same, we expect the upcoming review to see KPJ Healthcare included in the list, replacing the recently delisted Malaysia Airports Holdings,” it said.

Meanwhile, MIDF Amanah has revised its 2025 FBM KLCI target to 1,590 points from 1,670 points previously, citing rising macro risks stemming from the United States' tariff plans.

The investment bank expects equity valuations to remain relatively subdued.

“Nevertheless, we still expect Malaysia’s economy to remain healthy, albeit with a downwardly revised gross domestic product (GDP) growth forecast of 4.0 per cent.

“Along with the revised baseline GDP expectation, at this juncture we estimate the FBM KLCI to register a still-healthy 5.6 per cent year-on-year earnings growth in 2025,” it added.
